Meet the team

kANYIMBE KER

As a counseling intern, I am honored to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families in their personal growth and healing journeys. My approach is grounded in person-centered counseling, where I aim to create a supportive, empathetic space for clients to work through their feelings, experiences, and challenges. Additionally, I will bring in techniques and best practices from a wide range of counseling approaches depending on the specific needs of my clients.

I am passionate about working with clients facing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance abuse, and trauma. As I continue to grow in my practice, I am committed to learning from each individual I work with and providing compassionate, client-centered care. I am also particularly interested in working with immigrants and refugees.

In my free time, I love spending time with my wife and our families, reading, playing chess, jogging, exploring philosophical ideas, and listening to great Afrobeats music. I was born and raised in Mozambique and then later spent 11 years in South Africa as I was growing up. Southern Africa feels like home to me but Portland is great too!
