Meet the team

Sam Trillo

Sam Trillo (he/him) is a compassionate therapist, musician, artist, and dog lover (cats are cool, too!).

I have a BA in Film & Digital Media from the University of California Santa Cruz, earned in 2012. There I also received a minor in theater arts and found a love for writing original music. I am on track to graduate with an MA in clinical mental health counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in 2023.

Every client is unique, and each person is an expert on themselves. It is my job to bring out the best you as defined by you. I am not here to impose or dictate supposed wisdom from on high. I want to work with you where you are and help guide you where you want to be. My approach to counseling is integrative and involves the following theories and evidenced-based interventions: Person-centered; Existential; Gestalt; Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic; Family Systems therapy; Art/Music therapy; Play therapy; Narrative therapy; Cognitive Behavioral; Feminist; and Internal Family Systems. The technique is tailored to you and your relationships/family dynamics. I am in constant dialogue with my clients about the best approach to their treatment plan, and Iā€™m not afraid to try something new.

Counseling for me is not just about bringing mental health services to individuals but working towards healing our families, communities, and society.
